Texas State Senate Race Sees Lopsided Spending

As Joe Chapman reports in the Amarillo Globe News, 31st District state senator Kel Seliger outspent challenger Elaine King Miller $451,000 to $11,000 in the first six months of 2004. King Miller's largest expenditure was $3,547 for stamps; Seliger's a whopping $421,000 to a political consulting firm.

Seliger's biggest contributor, the Texas Medical Association's Tex-PAC, was $50,000. King Miller's was the Texas Democratic Party, who gave $3,500.

You think Texas might be a candidate for contribution limits?
