A Day to Honor America's Veterans
Today is Veterans Day. It's a day to remember the men and women who have died for America and all that she stands for. Its a day to remember the many others who have not died, but who have faced injury and disability, sacrificed time away from loved ones and family, and given years of their lives to a cause larger than themselves. Most of us are not in the armed forces these days, but all of us have a responsibility to serve our country and to protect democracy in America. We can do so by voting in elections, educating ourselves about the challenges we face as a nation, and taking the time out of our busy days to participate in the greatest government the world has ever known. We owe our veterans nothing less on this and every day. You can find out more information about Veterans Day at this website by the Department of Veterans Affairs and this site by the non-profit group Veterans of Foreign Wars.
